This Network is working under the aegis of the OIC Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH). The COMSTECH Secretariat has been located in Islamabad
and President of Pakistan is its ex-officio Chairman. As per decision of the COMSTECH in its Third Meeting in 1986, under the Chairmanship of President of Pakistan and endorsed by the Fifth
Islamic Summit held in Kuwait in 1987, the Government of Pakistan asked SUPARCO to host this Network. Since then, this Network is functioning within SUPARCO's HQs premises at Karachi. |
ISNET organises different international seminars / workshops and short-training courses in which a number of scientists, engineers and policy-makers from the OIC member countries
participate. Chairman SUPARCO is ex-officio President of ISNET and Secretary, SUPARCO has the additional responsibility of the Executive
Director of ISNET. |
